A public event by New Architecture Writers, a BAME-only architectural criticism project

Founded in 2017, New Architecture Writers is a free year-long writing course which aims to make a positive contribution to the culture and diversity of design criticism in the UK. Since March 2019 the second year group have been taking part in a programme of workshops, tours, lectures and written exercises all alongside their own further studies or work.

At this event, the group will lead a series of two interviews and a chaired panel discussion with leading figures involved in both the built environment and media industries. Speakers confirmed so far include Hanif Kara, co-founder and director at the leading engineering firm AKT II, Gurmeet Sian, founder of Office Sian,Chrystal Genesis, journalist, curator and host of award-winning independent Stance podcast, Rupesh Varsani, former Development Manager at Almacantar and Siufan Adey, NAW alumni and video production assistant at the global design blog Dezeen.
