Education Education Education

Thursday 26th April, 7-9pm, Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore

Architectural education is at the very heart of architectural culture. The symbiotic relationship between architectural teaching and practice is unique to the industry, enhancing academia and the profession alike.

While practitioners are often discussed and celebrated for their contribution to the built environment, they are rarely recognised for their teaching. Yet the pedagogy of many great tutors is often as intrinsic to their architectural position as their design work and just as valuable to explore.

With teaching philosophies as characteristic as their personal practice, certain tutors carry reputations that transcend the schools they teach in, commanding tremendous influence over generations of future designers.

Education Education Education is a special event bringing together some of the most revered architecture teachers working in the UK to explore how and why they teach. Speakers include Pier Vittorio Aureli, AA; Miraj Ahmed, AA, Camberwell College of Art; Nicola Koller, RCA; Julia King, CSM and Peter St John, The Cass. The event will be chaired by Liza Fior, founding partner of muf architecture/art.
