Join us on Saturday 16th of August for a tour around the Jerwood Space, a recently completed project by Witherford Watson Mann Architects.
The Jerwood Space is an important resource for the performing arts in London, offering a range of rehearsal spaces for hire in a converted and extended Victorian school building. In this recently completed project, the previously blank street-front has been opened up and transformed with new entrances and openings, serving an enlarged cafe and events space, a new rehearsal room, coffee roasters and loading bay. The connection to the main spaces has been widened and loosened, the management office relocated to open up a generous foyer, and a roof terrace has been added. The new construction elements tooth in to existing brickwork, resonate with the existing palette of stock brick and cor-ten steel, and rhyme with the layered streetscape of Union Street.
